Michelle is an amazing mom and medical sales consultant. She wanted branding photos for her new consulting business, where she plans to coach women into relationship sales. She is the mother of 2 kids and I always learn so much from her every time we get to spend time together.

When she reached out, Michelle wasn’t sure what type of photos she would need, she knew she wanted professional images to represent her new personal brand. So I created a shot list of about 10 types of images she would most probably need/want in the near future. Some of the items on this shot list were:

Business headshot
Creative portrait
Celebratory portraits
Holding sign
Working on desk
Talking on the phone
Flat lays with some of her personal items
Lifestyle portrait
Behind the scenes (typing, etc)
California-vibe portraits

Michelle flew in from California to spend a few days in Utah and decided to spend an afternoon with me so that we could get these photos taken. It was a chilly, beginning-of-spring (ie: winter) kind of day outside, so there would be no chance of doing sunny-looking photos outdoors.

Cue in: fake sun and my real palm trees from my house!

The advantage of having a home studio is that sometimes you need things that you would only find at home. I know, not every Utah home has palm trees inside, but I found them pretty useful this time.

We also did her lifestyle and desk shots in my living room. I moved some things around and framed her so that she would get a variety of backgrounds and OPTIONS.

Personal branding sessions are different from headshot sessions because branding involves a variety of images for your specific business/brand needs. Headshots are simpler photoshoots and a great way to get your feet in the water. But if you are your own brand or if you own a brand that needs images tailored for YOU, I’m your gal!
